Former Kansas state AG cites Sebelius' advocacy for procedures
A former Kansas state attorney general says the Democrats' health-care proposal is alarming because it allows Health and Human Services
Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, the former governor of Kansas, to decide when the government should pay for abortions.
"Well, let's take a quick look at what Gov. Sebelius supported in Kansas," wrote former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline in a newsletter on the issues. "Late-term abortions on viable children were performed, for instance, because a prospective mother did not want to hire a babysitter when she attended the concert of her favorite rock band.
"Another example: a desire to compete in the current rodeo season was sufficient to justify the termination of the life of a perfectly viable unborn child just a few weeks before natural childbirth," he wrote.
Kline knows the subject: He investigated the late-term abortion corporations operating in Kansas while he was the state's chief law enforcement officer and brought charges. But behind a massive influx of financial support from abortion interests, Kansas elected a pro-abortion AG, replacing Kline, who then became a district attorney and continued his prosecution of abortion-business leader Planned Parenthood.
The case against Planned Parenthood, however, remains in limbo now, he said, because a pro-abortion judge picked by Sebelius for the state Supreme Court ordered a witness in the case not to testify.

Tyler was taken backstage and around 12:15 a.m., Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry came out to tell the audience Tyler was being taken to the hospital and that the show would not go on.

PAUL MCCARTNEY TO PLAY BENEFIT IN ATLANTA PARK
Paul McCartney to play benefit in Atlanta park
ATLANTA – Paul McCartney is coming to Atlanta for a summer concert to benefit the city's historic Piedmont Park. The Piedmont Conservancy that cares for the city park said Wednesday that the 67-year-old ex-Beatle will perform in the park on Aug. 15. The show is expected to dwarf the conservancy's 2007 Dave Matthews Band and The Allman Brothers Band show that attracted 50,000. Money raised goes to maintaining and expanding the sprawling and heavily used park in the shadow of Midtown Atlanta's skyscrapers. The park dates back to a private club founded in 1887.
Want to see chaos looks like?? ... mmm Show up to the Fillmore where the Jonas Brothers announced a FREE CONCERT via Twitter and I was there to witness it Thursday night where I and a camera crew arrived to a packed house the Fillmore at Irving Plaza in New York. You can't help but wonder what the big obsession is with these 3 teenage boys, but when I think back to my " New Kids on the Block" & "Backstreet Boys" days, now I definitely know what the obsession is about. Their cute, their young and they sing.. ohhh yea.. and they throw free concerts, why not be obsessed? So as soon as we showed up there were girls ready to belt out their favorite tunes on camera and I even gave one girl the FOX5 microphone to sing on. The concert was rumored to start 8:30pm, but I was I was baffled to hear the first girl online, had been there since 11am!!! Rain or Shine, everyone's spirits were up, but I'll tell you what wasn't "up", line-cutting!! Trust me... with all the police that were there, dedicated moms and teenage fans, your were getting into the concert fair and square and not anyway else!! Entertainment Reporting isn't a walk in the park and it can be quiet exhausting at times to stay in character with all the fans screaming "JONAS BROTHERS" every time we came by with a camera or in the pouring rain, as you feel the humidity turning a fresh blow out to a curly, wavy mess. However, with a great camera crew and Ms. Julie Chang to give me pointers, the night turned out to be a great experience and a memorable one.
This was actually my very first time going to city hall. It was kind of exciting, seeing all the politicians, council meetings and the feeling of being somewhere very important. I was going to a press conference to interview former mayor Edward Kotch who was endorsing another politician, but my focus that afternoon was an off topic question having to do with the recent shooting by a white supremest at the Holocaust Museum in Washington. First we go through security, then find which press conference we are at ( since there are so many going on at once) and finally finding the right moment to get the Mayor alone to interview him, sounds easy right? WRONG!! Everything went smoothly until it was time to interview the Mayor (which was absolutely not able to get pulled aside for any off topic questions so it was now or never!) I waited and politely let others ask theirs as I figured they would do the same, butttt ( haha) of course they didn't, so in a slight pause when the post, the daily, and other channels were still spitting out the first word of their next question.. I, Ms. Raven Santana, Ms. Small, rookie, self blurted out, firmly, as "un-rudely" as I could, "On other topics Mayor." The only was to explain this was slow motion in a movie, it was quiet and yes, they let me speak, but I found this nervousness to not stutter to perfectly say what I had to say in 3 seconds before they all threw me aside and selfishly continued on theirs. So I did and he answered and we got great soundbites and I was so proud of myself, for asking a question that others were interested in (as they too held out their microphones to record what he said) and for him answering it in great explanation.
Friday I was sent out to interview Brett Gardner of the NY Yankees. He and a girl named Alyssa have alot in common and it all is communicated by a special bracelet. This is definitely one of the most laid back sluggers I have ever met. Besides being talented, handsome, and humble, he has a huggge heart (& no not a huge ego). So each channel/press had 3 minutes to ask their question to him and Alyssa, mine question to Brett: Is the bracelet bringing him any luck in the subway series??!! His answer: He sure hopes so! My question to Alyssa: Are you making any special bracelet for that game? Her: Yes, maybe a new one, she'll make. How cuteeeee! PS I got my very own Sunshine Project Braclet too! PAUL AND RINGO UNVEIL "BEATLES:ROCK BAND
Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr Unveil “The Beatles: Rock Band” in L.A.
“Who ever thought we’d end up as androids?” laughed Sir Paul McCartney, giddily strumming the air guitar onstage this morning alongside fellow Beatle Ringo Starr for a select crowd of journalists and technology trendsetters in Los Angeles. On-hand to promote The Beatles: Rock Band, the pair joined Yoko Ono and Olivia Harrison onstage at Microsoft’s press conference, held in advance of annual game industry confab the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), which opens tomorrow.
Due for release September 9th on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii, the game features creative input from all, including contributions by Dhani Harrison, son of the late George, who was instrumental in the project’s creation. As members of the Fab Four, represented on-screen by 3D virtual avatars, players can strum on guitar, sing or play drums along with the band to smash hits including “Here Comes the Sun” and “I Saw Her Standing There.” Hitting stores the same day the Beatles’ entire digitally remastered catalog arrives on CD, 45 tracks will be playable courtesy of Rock Band developer Harmonix. Ten were revealed today, ranging from “Back in the USSR” to “Octopus’s Garden,” “I Am the Walrus” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” while the complete Abbey Road album will be available for download at launch. According to music supervisor Giles Martin, all tracks have been remastered for optimum quality.
“The game is good, the graphics are good, and we look great,” chuckled Starr. So too did the game’s introductory movie, previewed for the first time, a head-spinning montage of anthropomorphic suns, Donnie Darko-esque rabbit-headed performers and vintage-era concert sets.
“The Beatles started many revolutions,” said MTV Networks president Van Toffler. “They launched the tech revolution, coming into a black and white world and exploding in psychedelic color.” Presumably, now they’ll be able to do so again right from your basement, and in high definition.
Lucky and I practiced our dance steps under the stars at the DanceGiving
fundraiser (dancegiving.org) at the fabulous Tribeca Rooftop in lower
Manhattan. DanceGiving benefits the extraordinary non-profit
organization Bpeace (bpeace.org), a group dedicated to helping women in
Afghanistan and Rwanda recovering from war. We sincerely support Bpeace
because we recognize that we’re all connected, our neighbors are global,
and that peace and prosperity is a basic right for everyone.
Lucky and I broke into a few creative dance moves! MSNBC’s Morning Joe
co-host Willie Geist was trying to keep up with Lucky on the dance floor.
Lucky was a hound dog dancing the night
away doing the monkey and bunny hop in honor of her fellow animals, she
certainly didn’t have two left feet (paws), dancing with Lucky requires
picking her up and holding her tight!
We hung out with Fabien Cousteau – grandson of legendary undersea
explorer Jacques Cousteau. Currently, Fabien is partnering up with his
father, Jean-Michel Cousteau, and sister Celine; following in the
family’s sand steps with a new PBS series titled Ocean Adventures
(pbs.org/kqed/oceanadventures). Topics range from the Grey Whale
migration of the west coast of the Americas, to the magical coral
spawning of the Caribbean, to the ghost ships of the Great Lakes. Lucky
certainly would enjoy accompanying them to exotic places such as the
Amazon, Samoa, Christmas Island, Papua New Guinea, and the
Arctic…wherever there is water!
Lucky & I had more than just a taste of fun at the Annual "Taste of
Spring" Gala benefiting the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute! For
over a decade this institute has carried out its unique mission to
benefit the millions of children and families impacted by by adoption:
providing leadership that improves adoption laws, policies and
practices, through sound research, education and advocacy – in order to
better the lives of everyone touched by adoption! I’m a real believer
and fan of both children and animals’ adoption and wouldn’t miss the
chance to support such an amazing group! Though I don’t have any kids
yet (adopted or otherwise), I’ve had plenty of mothering practice taking
care of Lucky and could relate to all the work it requires. Animal Fair
has always rallied in support of fairness to animals, and is committed
to promoting animal and shelter rescue (www.animalfair.com).
We were thrilled to see one of our favorite restaurateur’s Jean Georges
Vongerichten of the famed Jean-George eatery. We had to laugh when he
shared that his children (funny he, like President Obama, is not a into
small canines) have two dogs a Yorkie and Shih Tzu, that they named Jojo
(after what they call Daddy Jean Georges) and Candy (how sweet – the
culinary theme is passed on to the next litter).
Wolverine X-Man and award winning actor (and People’s 2008 Sexiest Man
Alive) Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborra-Lee Furness,
are the proud parents of two adopted children, Oscar
Maximillian, and Ava Eliot. They celebrated in the spirit
of the evening, Deborra-Lee also co-founded another adoption charity in
Australia called Orphan Angels (www.orphanangels.com.au) which matches
orphans with prospective parents. Hugh told us that although they may
not have a dog to give a bone to, he added “Deborra has the funny bone
in the family, after I get off stage we laugh as I use all her lines.”
No bones about it!
The Jackmans’ announced first to us that they would be getting their son
Oscar a pet fish on his birthday! My Wanda would be happy to know (my
Betta fish that recently swam quietly to the big fish pond in the sky)!
The Rose herself Bette Midler (aka the Divine Miss M) was having a ball
and is currently on a mission to restore even more New York City park
land for you and your pets to play on, with this year’s New York
Restoration Project's (NYRP) 2009 Spring Picnic Auction, which is
happening NOW until June 10, 2009 at www.charalready begun and guess what -
you can bid on having lunch with Hugh
Jackman (how yummy), a trip to Las Vegas to meet Cher backstage, (Do You
Believe…), see Santana in concert (how Supernatural), meet Fleetwood Mac
(in your Dreams), and many other fun invites to bid on. Sold! With all
proceeds benefiting the New York Restoration Project.
Kristen Chenoweth wasn’t Pushing Daisies, but was pushing a play date
with her Maltese “Maddie” (named after actress Madeline Kahn) and my
Maltese, Lucky. Fellow X-Men (wo-Men) actress Famke Janssen who plays
Dr. Jean Grey in the movie franchise was sans Licorice her black Boston
Terrier, named after her love for black licorice candy. Famke quipped,
“I can’t get enough of both!”, little lucky tip , dogs are a it healthier! A

PAUL RODGERS LEAVES QUEEN - TO REJOIN BAD COMPANY FOR 10 CONCERT TOUR
Paul Rodgers, Queen Split: “It Was Never a Permanent Arrangement”
Paul Rodgers has revealed that he and Queen are parting ways. The singer told Billboard.com that after almost five years as the group’s frontman — and a summer tour scheduled with the reunited Bad Company — he is leaving Queen amicably. “My arrangement with [Queen’s Brian May and Roger Taylor] was similar to my arrangement with Jimmy [Page] in the Firm in that it was never meant to be a permanent arrangement,” Rodgers said.
Queen + Paul Rodgers was born in late 2004 to perform at the U.K. Music Hall of Fame Awards. The collaboration went on to produce two world tours, two live albums and a studio album, 2008’s Rock the Cosmos. The studio album was the band’s first since 1995’s Made In Heaven, which featured the last recordings of Freddie Mercury. Rodgers said his time with Queen was “an achievement” and didn’t rule out the possibility of perhaps rejoining May and Taylor in the future: “It’s kind of an open book, really. If they approach me to do something for charity, for instance, or something like that… I’d be very much into doing that, for sure.”
Rodgers will reunite with Bad Company for a 10-concert run starting June 17th. The band will also release a live DVD, Bad Company – Hard Rock Live, on August 8th.

AEROSMITH SETTLES OVER CANCELLED MAUI SHOW
Aerosmith fans with tickets to canceled Maui show won't miss a thing; band agrees to perform
WAILUKU, Hawaii (AP) — Free tickets to see Aerosmith in Hawaii? Dream on, unless you happen to be one of 8,300 people left in the cold when the band canceled a sold-out concert in 2007.
Aerosmith has agreed to perform on Maui to settle a class-action lawsuit filed by fans who alleged the band pulled out of the show in favor of a larger concert in Chicago and a more lucrative private performance for Toyota dealers on Oahu.
The suit claimed the cancellation cost Maui ticket buyers between $500,000 and $3 million in travel costs, handling fees and other expenses.
The date for the new Maui concert has not been set, but Faria said it will likely be in September or October, after Aerosmith wraps up its North America tour.
30 Seconds to Mars back with Virgin Records
Why be at odds when there's music to be made?
Back on the same page after months of legal wrangling over royalties and whatnot, 30 Seconds to Mars is once again recording for longtime label Virgin Records.
The Jared Leto-fronted rock band's third studio album, currently titled This Is War, is slated for a fall release following a truce between the EMI-owned label—which had sued the group for $30 million—and talent (who in turn had really lashed out at Virgin).
30 Seconds—Leto, his brother Shannon and Tomo Milicevic—have been busy cranking out This Is War, which will feature guest vocals by Kanye West, for nearly a year. They recently opened their studio to residents of Los Angeles' Children of the Night program, which rescues kids from prostitution, and offered up free concert tix to their musically inclined guests.
Bob Dylan to play ballparks with Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp

Tickets for the 22-city trek begin going on sale May 2. All tickets are priced at $67.50, and children under 14 will be admitted free to the concerts when accompanied by a paying adult. More information, including on-sale dates, can be found at Dylan's website .
Dylan will be supporting a new album on the road trip. "Together Through Life," which hits stores April 28, came as something of a surprise to Dylan followers, and was announced via press release only last month.
